In a time where Hip Hop music is arguably seen as being on life
support, consumers are thirsty for a new refreshing sound.
With the West Coast currently in the lime light due to the likes of
The Game, Glasses Malone, and Bishop Lamont;
"Young Rook" is
ready to add his name to West Coast starting line-up.
Born in South Central Los Angeles , January 31, 1986, at a time
when gang violence was on the rise, his mother decided to move to a
safer city east just east of Los Angeles, Bellflower Ca. Growing up
Young Rook always had a love for music, but that on hold to
pursue his passion for basketball.
With influences ranging from Jay-Z, Fabolous, Cassidy, Jada Kiss,
and Joe Budden,
Young Rook put his basketball dreams on hold
due to a health condition, and began to pursue writing music full
time in the 10th grade.
At the age of 22, Young Rook has many musical accomplishments under
his belt. Staring his own label ( Rags to Riches Ent.) in 2008 and
having various Mixtapes in circulation ( 2006 Street Credibility
Mixtape, 2007 "2" for "1" Mixtape) and his latest project Label
Money hosted by DJ Warrior (with production from 1500 or
nothing),
Young Rook is proving he has staying power in the game.
Aside from having his own Mixtapes in the streets, Young Rook has
been featured on various Mixtapes, and had a series of performances
including: Western Hospitality 4-9, and on the 10 years and
counting soundtrack.
Young Rook performed at Hollywood hot spot "Key Club",
fashion shows, and at the Dancers Elite in Atlanta, Ga.
Young Rook is ready to secure his position with the West
Coast Elite.
By creating a fresh buzz in the streets of California, accompained
by his music in rotation on Sirus Radio,
Young Rook will be
a house hold name.
